Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to IdJELE: Indonesian Journal of Education, Learning, and Evaluation undergo a rigorous double–blind peer review process to ensure the publication of high–quality scholarly work. The review process is conducted in several stages:
-
Initial Screening. Each submission is first evaluated by the Editor–in–Chief or Managing Editor to determine its relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and adherence to the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic requirements may be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejected without external review.
-
Plagiarism Check. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the content. Submissions with significant similarity scores will be returned to the author(s) or rejected.
-
Double–Blind Peer Review. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. In this process, both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other.
-
Review Criteria. Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the significance of the study, originality, clarity of presentation, methodological rigor, coherence of argumentation, and contribution to the field.
-
Decision. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team will decide whether the manuscript should be:
-
Accepted without revision
-
Accepted with minor revision
-
Accepted with major revision
-
Declined
-
-
Revision and Resubmission. If revisions are required, authors are given a specific period to address the reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised manuscript. The revised version may be re–evaluated by the original reviewers before a final decision is made.
-
Final Proofreading and Publication. Accepted manuscripts undergo final copyediting, proofreading, and layout formatting before being published online in the upcoming issue.
The editorial team strives to complete the peer review process in a timely manner, with the average review time ranging between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the manuscript and reviewer availability.
